A Pilgrim Ascent

Recently completed a study of the Psalms. Tried my hand at writing a hymn of ascents.
A Pilgrim Ascent.
A SONG OF ASCENTS.
A pilgrim traveling, the straight and narrow road, singing the hymns of restoration and recollection; lifting up praise to the Holy Creator.
Other sojourners tramp down dark, wide, winding paths, celebrating the trivial trials and unfettered concerns of this realm as if they were blessings from above.
Resting securely, as one lays their head upon the ground, thoughts turn to dangers conquered and dangers yet unannounced; enemies defeated and enemies entrenched in the miles that lie ahead.
Sleep pilgrim soundly as there is an eternal Watchman to guard and protect through the night.
Morning comes with a dawning of a new day.
Rejoice and lift up praise!
Carry on up to Zion. Onward to Zion that mighty city of God!
Remember once again the provision that was made in the difficult days of yesterday.
Recall the joy of the experience of being in His presence.
Sing out awkward voice, sing out, oh weary soul!
For He is worthy!
Zion is home to His Holy Temple.
Zion is the place of His presence.
His temple now resides within; His Spirit now indwells.
Lift those hands high in praise!
Stand on tippy toes and lift those hands high in praise!
Lift those hands high in surrender to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords!
